Happy is the devotee Bodana who fascinated Lord (Krishna) and going to Dwarika led him from there to Dankpur on Dev Deewali day in S. Y.1212 (i.e. Kartik Purnima) and thus renowned Dankpur. The entire region of Gujarat was blessed with a jublient mood with the advent of Lord Shri Ranchhodraiji on the auspicious day of Dev Deewali. Seeing Lord (Krishna) being taken away, the people, at large, were bewildered and the miserable Guglis ran after him. Thus, with lamenatation they came to Dakor in His search where he was hidden under his own derections. Lord (Krishna) was weighed on the bank (Of Gomti) thus offering temptations.

This incident of taking away infatuted Lord (Krishna) with his modesty, fulfilled the desire and with 1/1/4 val (About 1/2 gram) of golden nosering,Ranchhodraiji left the battle (field) and thus was renowned in the rerritory. Propitious to his worshipper, Lord fulfilled the desire and hid Himself at the place of Dhwajdand (The flag pole) and for His worship left his footprints.

Even with the death of Bodana, the Guglis were not appeased. Requesting Lord Krishna to return to Dwarika, they sat on the bank of Gomti tank and went on a hunger strike. At last, Lord Ranchhodraiji (Krishna) directed Gangabai, wife of Bodana,to give the equivalent of His weight in gold and tell them to return to Dwarika. Poor lady, the window of Bodana, was a pauper and could not afford doing so.By a miracle, the idol became as light as a golden nose-ring (1/1/4/ val i.e. 1/2 gram in weight ) which was all that the widow of Bodana, Gangabai, had. The Giglis were disappointed, but the Lord mercifully directed that they would find after six months an exact replica of the idol in Devardhan Vav (Well with steps) at Dwarika. The impatient Guglis looked for the idol sometime earlier than they were told and as a result, found an idol which, though similar to the original one, was smaller. Pilgrims to Dakor still visit the places stated to have been associated with thelegend viz, where the branch of neem tree under which Lord rested while coming to Dankpur subsequently turned sweet; where the idol was hidden in the Gomti tank; whereon the balance was set up to weigh the original idol which Bodana had enshrined...
