Jai Shree Krishna to all vallah vaishnavs,

Could a vaishnav please explain why the Shikshapatra written? How important is it for a vaishnav to read these patra?

Why the Shikshapatra was written?

Shri Harirayji's younger brother Shri Gopeshwaraji was very devoted to the worship of Shri Krshna. His wife too was very co-operative in the worship. Shri Hariraiji by his divine power knew that Shri Gopeshwarji's wife was unlikely to live longer. Also he was well aware of the grief his brother was to face. He started writing letters to enable him to come out of worldly grief. As Shri Gopeshwarji always kept himself busy serving God, he hardly got time to go through the letters. But when the tragedy took place, he read the letters on appeal of some follower and that drastically helped him to come out of worldly grief. Very soon he got back to his former divine activities.

How important is it for a vaishnav to read these patra?

The principles propounded in Bhashya, Shodashgranth, Subodhiniji etc. are illustrated in the Shikshapatra in very lucid and simple way.

Jai Shri Krishna,

OK will start but need a lot more participants.
Letter One has total 24 verses.

Verse 1 and 2 explains foll in short.

One whose mind is totally engrossed in Krishna Seva and his heart burns for his sight will attain total Lila Consciousness.

Total surrendership without any expectation of any material gain. Also one can desire to have a wife or a son but thinking that they will be of great help to Him in seva.

Verse 3 , 4, 5, and 6 .

Worship Lord Shri Krishna with pure love and total devotion employ your full body for his service only. Protect your spirituality by all means.

Love for your children, wife etc should be beneficial for His seva.

Do not get attached to wealth but use it to protect your seva assets.

What is not usefull in seva should be avoided and also do not keep your mind in wealth but use towards the seva fo Shri Krishna

Keep the company of Bhagwadias duscuss vartas and attach your mind towards Shri Krishna seva daily.

Jai Shri Krishna,

Requesting more help from Bhavik vaishnavs for the translations which can help the newer generations. That is the problem we are facing now and many shying away making it difficult for youngsters to know more about Pushtimarg.

Shikshapatra is considered as Shrimad Bhagwad Gita in Pushtimarg.

Hence please come on in and join and share the beautiful knowledge.

Verses 7 to 12 explains as follows:-

Be pleased with Krishna seva enjoy and cherish the moment when you hold Him, dress Him, decorate Him etc also experience His seperation when not doing His seva think abot Him and sing kirtans or Venu Geet, Yugal Geet, Gopi Geet and imagine what Shri Krishna will be doing now. Like the way of Gopis who were always thinking about Shri Krishna and what He must be doing.

Have true bhava towards Shri Krishna He can be easily experienced with multitude of bhavas as He loves His Bhaktas more then anything.

Your heart must be pure, as Krishna just loves bhaktas with pure heart and enters in them pleasing the Bhakta and giving them divine pleasures and experiences but at the same time He leaves those with impure heart.

You must maintain DHINTA which increases by constant rememberence of Shri Krishna one may feel united or sometimes seperated these are the two attributes which even Gopis felt.

Shri Krishna is the reward as He can manifest according to Bhakta's bhava. He is the reward of union as well as fruit of seperation.

Jai Shri Krishna,

Verses 13 to 24 completion of letter one.

While doing sewa one must feel Sanyog (swaroop anand anubhav)
After sewa viprayog.
In viprayog the devotional reward blossoms when the heart contemplates Shri Krishna's face.
Know Shri Krishna as the prime fruit. He manifests according to Bhakta's bhava.
You cannot achieve same with knowledge or intelligence. Shri Krishna is Sat-chit- Anand swaroop.
Shri Krishna is the reward of union as well as the fruit of separation.
Shri Vallabh who is replete with grace is Shri Krishna's Mukharwind swaroop
Mind, Body, speech should always utilised in Sewa and only be under His shelter and keep away from people who are not under His shelter.
Have great respects for the Bhaktas also bhakti becomes strong when wealth and house are all established in Krishna sewa.
If bhakta is pleased with you then so is God, As bhaktas devotion lies under Shri Vallabh's feet. Such a soul is devoid of greed, no jealousy and has compassion towards all living beings and gives Shri Krishna Sewa the highest respects.
Only thru grace of Shri Vallabh that Shri Krishna will bestow His mercy on them.

Thanks Sitalji and Palnaji from UK, Unnatiji from India, Kavitaji form UAE for the makhan to continue but in USA we need Gas that is become most expensive and has crossed over $ 3 a gallon never in the history of USA. Laughing

While Makhan is still same price. But anyway if vaishnavs still want to apply and give or feed makhan will take that with folded hands Very Happy

By the way letter one explained was Vaishnav Kartaviya (Duties)
Letter number two will explain 20 verses on importance of swaroop bhav

Shri Krishna knows nothing except bhakta's heart and He is the nectar hidden within bhakta's bhav.
