Jai Shri Krishna

all this is as per my limited understanding and it would be nice if the other experienced vaishnavs would join in with the discussions..

in an ideal/perfect situation we can't except/request thakorji to fulfull our alokik wishes either - Nij-icchata Karishyati (He knows our circumstances very well and if He desires it He will do the necessary Krupa on His jeevs)

- However what you said is that if we wish for alokik (such as His leela smaran and darshans, His Sanidhya, etc) then we can be considered to be on the right tracks... (e.g., in Yamunashtakam Shri Vallabh says, sakal siddhi hetum muda, murari pada pankaja etc... and in Shri Sarvottam Stotra Shri Vitthalnathji says ... the fal of doing sarvottam path is shri krishna-adharamruta-svadah... )

so in Yamunashtakam all the siddhis shri yamunaji gives are alokik and likewise in Shri Sarvottam Stotra, one is promised Viniyogo bhakti yogah, pratibandha vinashane (one is to implement this stotra in doing bhakti and any obstacles in the performing bhakti are removed/destroyed).... and Shri Krishna's divine nectar...

all the relevant rituals/rules of opening a vrat (doing parna) are given in the various ekadashi stories/books

i guess, the simplest way (with bhaav and less ritualistic) to do parna is to wake up early and perform the usual duties... then offer the fal of the vrat at thakorji's lotus feet (say you are doing shri krishna samarpanam) with jal and tulsi leaf in hand and release them at the base of a plant (eg. in the tulsi plant) or in river (if one is available) and then open the fast and take the regular prasad

Jai shri Krushna...... Thank u very much Jagdishji. I m learning a lot from k.s. Well i think thats why its said that to achieve nirgun state of devotion is very difficult as one is allowed to wish but allowed to expect. This is a bit tough....
